Ramazan Kokzhalov

Litigation, arbitration and intellectual property

Represents businesses before the courts of Kazakhstan, in arbitration and in AIFC proceedings. His principal areas of practice are commercial and corporate disputes, intellectual property and damages claims.

Professional experience

Serves as an arbitrator in Kazakhstan. His litigation and arbitration practice covers case strategy, development of the evidence base and client representation.

Has experience protecting international brands and resolving trademark, unfair competition and licensing disputes. He has contributed to the work of the Intellectual Property Appeal Board and the preparation of legislation and regulations.

Holds an LL.M. from the University of California (2020–2021), with additional training in the United States in technology commercialisation and software licensing.
